![]() 2 However, the volume of ECF in hypertension has been reported to be diverse (expanded, normal or reduced), and most results were from small-sized studies. In general, the elevation of extracellular fluid (ECF) increases the preload, which eventually contributes to the generation of hypertension. However, 95% of hypertensive subjects are classified as having primary hypertension, indicating that there is no clearly known origin that might explain the initiation of hypertension. 1 Therefore, the global initiative is increasingly stressed in favor of the more precise management of hypertension.
